GLENCREE, Co. WICKLOW
This photo illustrates the grave stones and stone memorial.
The graveyard is in a beautiful location as you can see. Most of the graves belong to flyers of the second world war and were washed up on our shores. I believe a few of the deceased were recovered from aircraft that crashed throughout Ireland, particularly on the west and south west coast. As far as I know, there was one German aircraft that crashed in the Wicklow hills; I know there is an Irish society dedicated to tracking and mapping aircraft crash sites. Picture taken June 2002.
