Bigger Road: Francis Joseph Bigger (1863-1926)
Francis Joseph Bigger (1863–1926) is best known in Irish history as a Nationalist, but also made significant contributions to folk music through the Irish Folk Song Society as well as organising various Feiseanna (cultural festivals). Born in Belfast, his work as a solicitor enabled him to travel throughout the island, and his talent as a writer resulted in many important contributions to Irish life.
