River Poddle in Blackpitts, pictured upstream
Another view of the River Poddle in Blackpitts, Dublin 8 (see River Poddle, Dublin, pictured in the city centre for full details). The view is looking upstream and due west; this artificial tributiary of the river approaches from Ardee Street (towards the right of the photograph) before turning sharply east at Sweeney's Lane, then north at the junction with the Poddle's main stream. The entrance to the culvert pictured in the previous picture is behind the photographer (who is precariously perched on a very high wall!). The picture was taken in January 2007 - this site is due to be developed into an apartment block very soon.
