025 hauls an up Bell liner near Ballyfermot, Dublin

RAIL 19 PHOTO

Bell Shipping, based in County Waterford, was an important customer for CIE (later Irish Rail). They operated block liner trains from Waterford to Dublin and CIE even made a direct link at Lavistown to facilitate these trains. Unfortunately the company went out of business, making the Irish rail scene a lot duller!

The picture was taken in Ballyfermot on 30 September 1985 and the time was 1215.
