City walls at Cook Street with St. Aodoen's R.C. church
This is part of the remains of the city wall at Cook Street and parallel to High Street. The impressive fascade of St. Aodoen's Roman Catholic church is clearly visible - the medieval protestant church of the same name is just to the right of the photographer (not visible in picture). The wall originally headed to Christchurch cathedral and the Viking settlement at Wood Quay, only 300 metres or so in the distance.
