Frieze at Essex Quay just off the River Liffey

Many Dubs walk pass this building, the former Chamber of Commerce building at the junction of Parliament Street and Essex Quay. I am fascinated by the detail in this frieze - and there's nothing better in life than to watch other people work! I am told on good authority that it shows the story of soap and washing. The building was once owned by Lever Brothers who made sunlight soap and now detergents.

The frieze must have been restored and cleaned around 2000 and is well worth the visit - it's so near to Fishamble Street, Temple Bar, the Millenium bridge, the Viking centre and Christ Church Cathedral. [Picture taken June 2002]
